Laredo, TX - Sales Engineer
Fontaine Modification Company is searching for a Sales Engineer. The position will be based out of Laredo, TX but consideration will be given to qualified candidates working from a home office, living in a location other than the Laredo area. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing sales proposals, managing customer accounts, and providing exceptional customer service on behalf of Fontaine Modification.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Proposal Creation
Develop quotations from start to finish including researching the necessary items the customer has requested
Meeting with production and engineering teams to understand requirements for labor hours, material, as well as other critical items that need to be considered when developing the quotation
Use the company’s deal profitability tool to model the business case associated with each sales opportunity
Manage all aspects of customer and sales proposal data in the corporate ERP system
Develop a thorough understanding of our products and service offerings to better provide solutions to customers based on their needs
Account Management
Ensure customers’ needs and concerns are addressed as quickly and effectively as possible to develop and maintain strong relationships
Understand customers’ needs and how to provide value-based services
Provide excellent customer service via multiple means of communication
Build and strengthen client relationships to achieve long-term partnerships
Identify current and future customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with customers (potential and actual)
Investigate and troubleshoot customer service issues with the appropriate team members
Manipulate and manage customer spreadsheets as required
Liaison
Serve as a customer advocate and be a liaison between customers and internal functional areas
Assist in production scheduling by being able to understand and effectively communicate the priorities of the customer
Work with internal teams to develop strategic deliverable for customers and ensure they are being met
Sales Support
Support regional sales managers with sales proposals and other customer requirements
Partner with regional sales managers to execute sales strategy and to manage complex accounts
Travel in support of sales meetings, customer site visits and pilot reviews as necessary
EDUCATION/COMPETENCIES/EXPERIENCES
Bachelor’s Degree from Accredited College or University or equivalent experience
A minimum of (3) years’ experience with commercial vehicle or automotive manufacturing
A minimum of (3) years’ experience working in an inside sales, account manager or sales engineer position
Experience with quoting vehicle upfits is preferred
Proficient at Microsoft Excel and competent use of other Microsoft Office products
Aptitude to learn other computer software necessary to perform job functions
Be technically conversant with truck terminology
Able to handle many conversations daily with customers, the OEM, dealers, vendors, and our internal production staff
