ADP WorkForce Now (WFN) Payroll Specialist - Charlotte, NC

Fontaine’s Payroll Specialist works in the Charlotte headquarters and aids business units, locations, or corporate functional areas with all payroll, timekeeping, and TPA benefits issues. These activities include processing weekly and semi-monthly payrolls in ADP WFN; administering ADP E-Time to include processing time cards, verifying the accuracy of submitted time cards, and validating PTO requests and balances; completing hiring and termination processes in both ADP WFN and Workday.
The Payroll Specialist will report to Fontaine’s Director of Human Resources. Among the responsibilities are:
Enters maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employee’s hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
Assists in entering new hire information, terminations, leave administration, and coordination with benefit programs and vendors
Oversees procedures and processes and manages inquiries and requests related to the preparation and distribution of payroll.
Processes payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
Processing new hire paperwork
Reviewing payroll reports to ensure they are accurate and timely
Assisting in managing leave of absence requests, including administering leave accruals and processing payments during leaves of absence
Providing support to managers by answering questions regarding federal and state labor laws
Processing payroll for all employees in the company, including hourly workers and salaried executives
Calculating and administering payroll taxes (income tax withholdings, Social Security, Medicare, etc.)
Preparing reports detailing payroll activity for each employee
Preparing reports detailing payroll activity for each department or division within the company
Processing and tracking employees’ requests for time off from work, including overtime requests and other scheduling changes
Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
Maintains or oversees the maintenance of employee records.
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
Completes & reviews all background checks and e-verify (I9) documentation.
Makes all new and replacement employee, contractor, vendor, and visitor badges.
Assists with computing wages and recording data for use in payroll processing.
Provides FMLA, STD, LTD & ADA administration, and tracking, including benefit payback monitoring.
Completes requested assignments with limited direction or supervision.
Assists with company communications, HR policies/procedures, & training as needed.
Other duties may be assigned.
Associate degree or equivalent work experience

Three (3) years of ADP WFN Practitioner level experience for a multi-state/multi-site employer
